A dog’s pre-dinner ritual has people cracking up online. The pup is very specific about what he needs to do before chowing down — a dance! Yep, have you ever heard the expression to sing for your supper? Well this French Bulldog likes to dance for his dinner. But don’t worry, this seems to be something he likes to do. Rather than something that’s thrust upon him!

Tofu is a very particular guy. He likes what he likes! That often means the dog needs to do a special ritual before eating, which was recently documented and shared online.

The French Bulldog was caught doing his pre-dinner dance in the clip. The Frenchie was sitting right beside his food in the footage. He waited for his parents to return home before chowing down. But first it was time to boogie!

The dog’s mom joked that this was a rule that Tofu imposed on himself “or he could have been cursed as a young puppy,” she teased. “We might never know.”

The dance involves the pup bouncing from side-to-side and then he pops up onto his back legs to groove even more.

“It’s clearly imperative to him not only that he dances, but that we see and find great enthusiasm in his dance,” the mom added.

Commenters couldn’t stop laughing at the dog and his love of dance.

“As a pet sitter I am simply imagining the panic setting in like ‘WHY WONT THIS DOG EAT,’ meanwhile the guy just wants to do a little jig,” teased one person.

“It’s not that he needs to dance, clearly he needs to PERFORM,” a second commenter joked.

“It was already funny, but the fact that the length of the dance is not predetermined is HILARIOUS,” chimed in a third person.

While another commenter shared their dog’s own quirky eating habit: “My dog won’t eat if his head is not kissed. I started it out of love and now it’s a rule of his,” they shared.

What Do Frenchies Eat?

Like any other breed, a Frenchie’s diet is typically centered around their pet-safe food. There are some exceptions to this, but you want to be mindful of how much and how frequently you give them treats. Certain human foods can be toxic to dogs, so speak with your vet before introducing any new foods.
