AUSTRALIA | Woolworths’ Christmas Appeal has returned in partnership with OzHarvest, aiming to provide millions of meals during the festive season.

For 11 consecutive years, the Appeal has been a cornerstone of the Woolworths-OzHarvest partnership, helping ensure that everyone in the community shares the joy of a nourishing meal.

Until the 26th of December, every 50 cents donated will help OzHarvest deliver one meal.

Tokens have been available in stores since November, already raising enough to provide 1.13 meals this holiday season.

Customers will now also have the option to round up their shop at self-checkouts, with Woolworths matching donations on Saturday, the 6th and Sunday, the 7th of December.

All donations help get crucial food to those who need it most this holiday season, supporting OzHarvest’s mission to keep its vans on the road and deliver fresh and nutritious food to more than 1,500 charities.

“We know the holidays can be stressful for families struggling to manage their budgets. For us, Christmas is about getting food to everyone, and we are committed to ensuring joy and nourishment are available in all communities,” said Brad O’Connor, Head of Hunger Relief at Woolworths.

“Our customers are wonderfully generous, and their support is essential to fund the urgent work OzHarvest does in feeding Aussies in need this Christmas.”

How Your Small Change Makes a Big Difference:

In-Store: Customers can round up their shop to the nearest dollar at self-checkouts* or purchase a 50-cent token at full-service lanes.
Online: Simply add a donation to your basket when shopping online.

OzHarvest Founder, Ronni Kahn AO, said that the reality is many people have been struggling to put a meal on the table this festive season.

“We’re working closely with our national partner Woolworths to collect fresh, nutritious food from more than 550 stores, supporting 1,500 frontline charities that are struggling to keep up with rising demand,” he said.

“OzHarvest’s Christmas appeal is critical, as every dollar helps deliver two meals to someone in need, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Woolworths team and their customers for helping us feed more people than ever before.”

Customers can also support the cause by purchasing Woolworths Dreamy Choc Chip Santa Cookies in stores and online, with 50 cents from every pack donated to OzHarvest.
