went to Gogyo yesterday and honestly.. this might be my new favorite ramen spot

got the Kogashi Miso (the classic) – they char the miso at 572°F so the broth is almost black and tastes like slow-smoked bbq but make it ramen? weirdly amazing. sweet, roasty, complex

also tried the Kaisen Shio which is basically the ocean in a bowl – 6 types of seafood, clams on top, super clean tasting

the space is huge with this cool five-element centerpiece thing.. felt cozy but elevated at the same time. was almost empty when we went so easy walk-in, no wait

service was really attentive and the whole vibe is perfect for a date or group hang where you actually want to talk and bond over food instead of shouting over music

only place in nyc doing this kogashi-style ramen apparently.. definitely worth checking out 🫶

Looks interesting but a bit turned off by the gold leaf + black truffle combo… is the “metal” element just there to justify gold lol

WAIT – Is this the Gogyo from Japan / Asia that closed some years back? First had it in Kyoto and Tokyo back in 2014, but at some point it seemed like they all closed down. The burnt shoyu was my favorite. Oh god hope this is.

  3. Burnt miso is intriguing but ngl, i can’t do these over the top noodle venues / experiences. Not a fan of JeJu either.

I thought the food and service were really good, I had the seafood one and it was delicious, but I was confused by the vibe they were trying to create haha. Like it felt like they were trying to be a Miami hotspot but it was just a bunch of people after work

NYC’s obsession with elevated ordinary food….

    Vomit

Can you order ramen by itself, or are you limited to the $40 pre-fixe menu?

Connection curator is a fancy way of saying influencer, how can people trust that your not actually affiliated with the restaurant ?

i don’t know about others, but the descriptions read like AI slop to me and are really distracting.

also, my god what kind of a world do we live in nowadays? 36 dollars pre tax / pre tip for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen?

I got downvoted to death when I said it last time but I’ll say again that there’s no worth it ramen in NYC at the prices they’re charging. $35+ is insane. Hard pass.
