NEW YORK (PIX11) — New Yorkers affected by the shredded cheese recall are eligible for a full refund.
The products sold in supermarkets nationwide and locally in New York Walmarts, Targets and Aldis were recalled by Great Lakes Cheese Co. due to metal fragments inside, according to the recall.

Originally initiated on Oct. 3, the recall was reclassified to Class II on Monday, which is defined as “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” according to the FDA.
How to get your refund
Anyone who has bought the affected cheese should return it to the store it was bought from, at which time you will be given a full refund.
