What are these doing on r/onionlovers, you ask? Well, it seems I put them in a container that last held very stinky onions and did not come clean in the dishwasher.

They reek of onion… I took them out of the container to air out and all I can smell at my desk is onion. They don’t really taste like onion, but the chocolate/nut taste is missing something, it’s been muted.

I can’t remember onion ever permeating a container like this… it reminds me of that Seinfeld where the valet transferred his funk to jerry’s car. IT’S AN ENTITY!! Happy Friday onion lovers.

Does slightly heating them makes them worse? Or better? I’d try something like that.

  2. I’d still eat them. If you make these again you can prevent the white markings on the chocolate by tempering the chocolate (heating it up and cooling it down to specific temperatures while melting, there’s plenty of guides and videos online). The white marks are what’s called chocolate bloom, it’s not harmful it’s just fat from the chocolate collecting on the surface, but it’s not very visually appealing.

Well chocolate does have fat in it and fat is notoriously bad about absorbing odors.
