    Beautiful red rocoto/manzano pepper

Ever grown this one?? I find it weirdly hot and it seems to have a laxative effect when made into vinegar style sauce. Any suggestions for better use of them? I’m going get half a dozen pods.

I have a few of these and they hold fruit year round (in my climate anyway). It is awesome to have fresh peppers in the middle of winter!

I usually dice them up for either a fresh or fermented salsa and have also fermented them with garlic to make sauce.

Used to do a cooked sauce with them, just rocottos, tomato puree, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.

I have sliced and pickled them similar to jalapenos but they go a bit soft after 6 months.

Seeds and middle are bitter so discard, and they like to squirt you in the eyes when chopping so cut from outside in and use a sharp knife.
