No additives at all. Very smooth and natural milk. I told my brother to bring this coffee milk for me from recent Japan trip. This is pure God-send. Why can’t we have nice things like these in states?

It would have to be called “coffee-flavored beverage (contains dairy)” due to product law.

The fact that it just says “delicious milk” on the front is unreasonably funny to me for some reason

Have you had the plain milk? They’re not kidding when they say “oishii milk “

  4. At the cost of my karma, you can’t have these things in the states because you alternate between being “we’re better than all of you” and “we don’t to talk to any of you”.

The US has rarely been a stable trading partner enough for niche stuff like this to be worth the time to export to you. If you tried adelaides (? from memory) iced coffee you’d be equally impressed. But all au sends the us currently is steak and gold due to tariffs and weird stuff.

US currency is great for trading between us but exporting to the US has always been a pain in the arse even before this current clusterfuck,

(side note – every time I went to 711 and bought a litre of plain oishiiiiiiii milk and they gave me a straw I would laugh my arse off, what am I gonna do? just drink a litre of the milk strolling down the street?)

It even says oishii on the label so it must be good.

Uh, you can. Go to a japanese market and ask for it.

Why cant we have things like this?

I mean… it’s just milk and coffee, right? Does it have sugar? Pretty easy to make lol

I do find it odd that theres this kind of culture in the US where coffee is never to be had with too much milk or too much sugar unless it’s directly a dessert. So like cold coffee milk occupies this space that has too much milk for the culture but isn’t presented desert-like enough. Is it an ego thing? Like theres definitely some aspect of people trying to feel grown up, but how much of that is the cause? Not accounting for preference, like people who dont like milky sweet things at all are one thing, but people who do like milky sweet things but feel that milky sweet coffee is “wrong” are what are interesting to me

I make coffee milk basically every day, with malt. A big pinch of espresso powder, a honey drop size of malt syrup, a slightly smaller pinch of sugar, about 50 ml of water to mix it together, and then about 400 ml of whole milk. It’s delicious and way higher protein than straight coffee. And I have an endless sweet tooth

I was very impressed with the milk in Tokyo. I liked the full fat ones from Hokkaido. That said, some of the organic milk sold in the San Francisco Bay Area are no slouches either. Costco organic whole mike is good too. The milk that are more bland are the cheaper supermarket brands. BUT, if my kids are I are eating cereal, any milk will do.

Now, have you tried the Japanese made flan and custard sold in supermarkets? They are not expensive, but boy are they top notch: creamy, rich, silky smooth, sweet.

  9. The list of the ingredient says it contains more than 50% milk produced in the country, dairy product (which is usually dairy powder imported from the us or China), coffee, sugar.

So it’s not a 100% milk café au lait. It’s less sweet but not sugar free

japanese milk is pretty bad, miss what I had in the us

Whenever my friends visit Japan I always make them drink this brand of milk because I think (especially Americans) always sleep on the milk quality.
