You cant fix stupid.. .you can try…. but it won’t work.
BernieTheDachshund
It’s not plastic.
BipolarSkeleton
I get that it’s not plastic but I know a few people that take the casing off of the sausage
Intelligent_Event278
This is a crime against sausages
(This was a joke, not to be taken seriously. Though it seems some have lmao)
IAmInExtremeDebt
Never heard/seen someone refer to it as “plastic” lol
newmanification
How do you think it’s plastic and still ask if you’re supposed to take it off?
KinkyQuesadilla
That person votes….for Trump.
Jakaple
I remove it
DruidDude_95
I mean there are synthetic casings you do remove first and I’m not the biggest fan of collagen casings.
Dannyboyrusso
It’s called crumbled sausage they put it on pizza
TheSoCalBull4000
In my life you got the people who eat the casing and the people who cut it out
chuck_the_plant
My mother used to “peel” mushrooms, so …
SilverB33
I hope someone told them what that is….
-DoctorSpaceman-
Meanwhile I knew a kid in school who would eat their peperami with the plastic wrapper still on
fanime34
Do you like your sausages circumcised or uncirsumcised?
1pensar
You can
ajmtz12
I know someone who wanted to try chorizo for the first time but she didn’t remove the casing, which is inedible. She was sad and ruined a pan
FelixTheEngine
I take them off. They do not fall apart. if I want crumble just cook ground pork and add sage and some maple syrup 👍
RampantJellyfish
Everyone knows you gut the sausage before skinning it
rathosalpha
Yes it looks like a condom
IronshinsIV
I used to dislike the casing as a kid but I knew it wasn’t plastic 😅
GunsouBono
Typically I’ll take the casing off of chorizo because I can usually only find it in sausage form and sometimes I want it in taco form
anonymousbwmb
Actually, yeah, sometimes I remove the casing. This person is an idiot, though.

It’s not plastic Cellulose …..made out of wood pulp ( plant source usually ) ( European s perspective, could be different in other countries , though in the far east it’s the same )
Not edible, not harmful, , flavourless , some are meant to be torn off while others can be eaten – adds a snap to frankfurters mimicking natural casing
MoulinSarah
It’s not plastic, and no
lyidaValkris
some people really dislike sausage skin. understandable. it is perfectly edible, however.
Palanki96
We don’t have that kind of sausage here but it’s a pretty common question for us. Some are edible, some aren’t. They can be pretty hard to figure out if the packaging doesn’t mention which
AvailableAd8744
I like my sausages without the casings, it’s the opposite for penises 😏
ShakeZula30or40
I take it off if I’m not cooking the sausages whole and the store was out of ground.
Solid-Search-3341
Natural casing is fine, but some of the synthetic ones really give a shitty texture, especially to breakfast sausages.
PM_ME_UR_RECIPEZ
So like..Opposite Day experience. Have these delicious Spanish dried chorizo sausages I love to snack on. One day I noticed it was covered in a paper film and I looked it up and they’re supposed to be peeled away and that paper film is just for packaging protection
mallik803
They sell it without the casings as just ground meat if you want it like that
Roostroyer
In some countries hotdogs sausages do come in plastic casings you need to remove before cooking them.
BenFranklinsCat
Okay, so this is funny… but my local corner shop sells polish sausages that come individually plastic-wrapped, which we discovered when we tried to BBQ them, and the “skin” melted, burned and then hardened.
DevelopmentGreen3961
What? You guys eat yours with the condoms on?
smh

I take them off if making a stew, otherwise it comes off itself and floats about.
Pleasant-Ant2303
Does OP think everyone has been eating plastic on their sausages? Wouldn’t it smell like Plastic burning when cooked?
TastyCodex93
Nah I love ingesting plastic on my sausages. In and out of the bedroom
souvlakimchi
Times are tough.. OP found a way to get sausages and 17th century condoms without breaking the bank
EruzaMoth
Depends what you’re making. Some recipes call for the casing to be removed, but most people just buy it without the casing then.
