These are some Carolina Reapers I planted a few months ago, and some of the top leaves suddenly started to deform and getting discolored. They are planted in 6in pots.

Well they aren’t Carolina reapers is your first problem, looks like an annum variety.

I agree with one commenter that it looks like a C. annuum variety, but no way to be sure at this point. The fruit will tell eventually.
It does not look bad at all, I wouldn’t be concerned. Be vigilant about pests, I see one tiny suspicious light-colored oblong shape in the middle of the leaf.

My habanero does that when it gets too much light.
