That’s some fine spatula work, Lou. Personally, when I get impatient and push it to six, I burn it. The fact this one is perfectly golden brown means you are a patient teacher, and you have a skilled student.

60+ and I just learned how to make grilled cheese also. I also spent the weekend bugging wife and MIL to make them sandwiches, your daughter is probably far less annoying about it. 😁

It warms my heart to see parents teaching their kids how to cook! I was lucky to learn when I was young, but I know a shocking number of people my age (mid 30s) who basically can’t even boil water because they never learned any basic cooking skills as kids. Maybe they just weren’t interested in learning, or maybe their parents didn’t cook, idk… but your daughter is gonna be a pro grilled cheese maker!
