This weeks come for supper is a love letter to bitter leaves. My favourite salady sides are usually the ones that are built around bitter leaves. There are four recipes this week as well as some loose ideas for how to dress the rest of the bitter leaf family. You’ll find, a very good chicory seeded salad with a coriander seed vinaigrette, a chicory, pear, roasted hazelnut and Grana Padano salad, a radicchio, chicory, fennel, blood orange and pistachio number and perhaps my favourite, puntarelle alla romana.

Punterelli is a bit of a weird looking vegetable but all it needs is a little bit of time, a little bit of patience and a killer dressing.
