My daughter loves her soft supermarket sliced white bread. Does not like my crusty loaves. So trying to make one that looks and tastes like one. Used Sally’s simply sandwich bread recipe. Is the crumb dense? Does it look like storebought bread? Anyone got a good recipe i can try?

👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌⭐⭐⭐ woopeeee!! fantastic. open a store, I’ll buy some 🙂 GREAT job. thanks for the nice food post
I’ve been using the King Arthur sandwich bread recipe for awhile. I recently switched from the AP flour to bread flour and have been using buttermilk instead of whole milk and it’s about as close as I can get to commercial loaves.

Was just about to ask as to whats the point of making soft “bread” is but then I read the description saying its for your daughter.
The loaf looks really well done though (even if I personally consider this a waste of flour haha).
Looks gorgeous!
I would try 2 things
1. Pullman loaf pan to get the rectangular shape she is used to
2. Try a recipe like [Hokkaido Milk Bread](https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/japanese-milk-bread-recipe)
How many cups of flour to make the ideal height?
Nigella does a banging soft white loaf from her last cook book. I’ve made it loads of times for my daughter. Super soft due to sour cream as one of the fats. Lovely. Think it’s on YouTube, but don’t have time to look it up just now.
Now all you need is a Pullman loaf pan or something flat you can weigh down on top
This is my white whale, to make Wonderbread at home
If you want it to be softer cover it with a towel as soon as you get it out and the crust will steam more.
This is so perfect! I always have to score my sandwich loaves otherwise they burst out of wherever they want 😅
