I dont immediately hate the sound of the phrase “apple sandwich” but just slapping an apple between a bun isn’t it. You’d need to thinly slice the apples and put some kind of sauce or sugar or spices or something.

One of my favorite snacks as a poor child was bread with some butter or lard sprinkled with brown sugar. We weren’t rich enough for white sugar which is crazy saying it now.
