New Orleans cuisine is no longer part of the Pleasantville food scene, but a taste of France is coming.

Such is the cycle of the restaurant business in Westchester which usually sees one door close and another open.

Crawdaddy’s Creole Kitchen, with its Big Easy vibe and cocktail-forward Voodoo Lounge, closed in March.

The 48-seat restaurant, which opened in November 2023, started as a partnership between Michael Boulos of The Raconteur Bar & Kitchen in Pleasantville, Veronica Kallas, and Maria and Anthony Amato, who own Foley’s, also in Pleasantville.

In its place will be Butter + Brie French American Kitchen, which, after some interior changes, should open in the fall.

Crawdaddy’s demise now makes 17 restaurants in Westchester that have closed this past year including Mariachi Mexico in Armonk, a USA TODAY “Best Restaurant of the Year” pick, El Cantito Cafe, a Puerto Rican restaurant in Yonkers featured on Gordon Ramsay’s Fox show, “Kitchen Nightmares,” and Argonne Rose, a brewery/bar in a Northern Westchester church.

On the flip side, there have been a host of openings, everything from a Jewish deli to Aegean cuisine — with more coming (as in at least 19 more; see story HERE.)
