planted this extra plant in random soil on the corner of my yard ( basically patch of grass ). what will i expect from this guy and will he survive. ( btw i am in NZ so it is summer here and not winter )

If you water and fertilize it regularly it will provide food. I stick tomatoes everywhere in my yard too just to see what I can get with little effort. I only grow indeterminate types so I have stakes sticking up all over the place. It’s fun experimenting to see how far you can push the parameters and still succeed. Keep us posted how you do.
