Does anyone have recommendation on a temperature regulating fan compatible with Kamado Joe? I chatGBT some ideas and this was one. Would love feedback. Thanks KJ gang

RedditGPT here, either this or Fireboard Drive both work nicely. Both can pair with wireless thermometers as well, and at least the Fireboard can also be controlled by a built in battery so you don’t need a power connection.

I use a Chef’s Temp ProTemp S1 with the Breezo. Absolutely love the combo.

I’ve been using Flameboss for 11 or 12 years now, originally the 200 and then upgraded to the 500 last year using their “trade-in” promo.
Without the damper, the billows blows too hard for Kamado grills, so highly recommend getting it. Or you can do what I did before I got mine which is just cover most of the intake hole with some masking tape.

I use a fireboard. No real complaints other than the direct airflow can cause your coals to burn extremely unevenly and on extremely long cooks you can end up with no fuel in the center so your fan doesnt really work as well. Its not an issue of the fireboard, any fan forced oxygen will result in this.

Had a Flameboss for years, love it.

I have a 3 year old (latest model) BBQ Viper fan. Has a built in damper with variable speed capability and has been very reliable… unlike the POS UltraQ I kicked to the curb for a fabulous FireBoard Drive.

I’m about to find out. I got a billows to use with my smoke x4 and during thanksgiving with the wind and cold, it didn’t work that well on my WSM. I sealed and modded my WSM as much as possible. I have downsized and sold most of my smokers and grills, I had way too many.
So what does one do? Order a Kamado Joe of course. Well today it’s windy and cold again, so I’m going to try it out on the Joe.

I use Billows and Signals on my BGE. Love the Thermoworks products. What do you plan on using with the Billows?

I like my fireboard 2 drive, I bought it with the Kamado Joe and every single long session has been “set it and forget it”.

Used the Billows. It worked as expected. I just decided to not use fans anymore as I didn’t think they were all that necessary.
I’ve tried a few different setups and this is by far the best one I’ve used.

RE: Billows
I bought mine retail off their site. A few weeks later they ran a half off sale. I reached out and…instantly got a CC credit for the adjusted price. I didn’t even pressure support – I literally just asked if they did price adjustments.
They must follow the Costco model of “did you pay for it? OK, take it”

The fire board is what I use and have been very happy with. I also have their instant read probe, and wireless probes. All work really well.
Double-D-Smokers
I use ChefsTemp S1 and Breezo fan combo. I love it.

I can speak from experience using the Billows with RFX. I have really enjoyed it, was perfect for my overnight Thanksgiving brisket. Holds temps really well. I will say, two things it does not come with that you should get if you are to get it are the actual [mounting kit](https://www.thermoworks.com/billows-mounting-kit/?srsltid=AfmBOopML6lM7KBym25Yvkij_C3EOGrG8d9NZ7UGs5D1dhaTc9M9I0-Z) and the [intake damper](https://www.thermoworks.com/tx-1609x-bd/?srsltid=AfmBOoom7HGiqeRz87EUay63TBzjigGsMaS9ywyjAPyuQuMWFzJMOU1j)
