In order to increase the cultural and gastronomic offer of the Bay of Kotor, on February 10th and 11th, 2017, starting at 19:30 PM, the “Conte” restaurant in Perast will host the Evenings of Mediterranean Cuisine and Slavonian Wines.
The famous Croatian chef and winner of the “Golden Chef of Croatia” award, Mr. Zlatko Marinović, and the pioneer of Yugoslav winemaking, Mr. Ivan Enjingi, will prepare famous gastronomic specialties for visitors and serve them with appropriate wines from the offer of one of the most famous wineries in the region.
As announced by restaurant manager Darko Kasalica, in addition to the dinner, which will consist of seven gangs (dishes), each accompanied by appropriate wines, guests will have the opportunity to learn about food and wine pairing, all accompanied by live music from the Kutjevo tamburitza players.
As a welcome snack, trout in puff pastry with Graševina 2015 will be served, then smoked carp and trout aspic with puff cheese and prosciutto in bitter orange sauce with Rhine Riesling 2012, then smoked carp stew in Skadar style with Pinot Gris 2012 and Graševina 2013, then Kaštela seafood brodette with Zweigelt 2012, then monkfish medallion with cabbage puree and truffle sauce with white venje 2008, after that we have veal cheeks in sauce, with hazelnut puree with Crno Venje 2006 and Pinot Noir 2008, and finally a treat in the form of vanilla ice cream with fried nuts and pumpkin oil, in fig sauce with Traminer and Sauvignon, late harvest selection of berries 2004.
It should be mentioned that Mr. Zlatko Marinović is the chef of the famous fish restaurant “Noštromo” in Split, and that Mr. Ivan Enjingi won the “Crystal Globe” award in Paris, that his wine Bijelo Venje 2008 was declared the best wine in Croatia in 2016, and Bijelo Venje 1998 won the award for the first wine in the world in Paris.
