I’m not sure 1987 is considered old. People from 1987 don’t even have gray hair yet.

These are soooo good! The taste and texture are just perfect.

Regarding the age of this recipe, it dates to at least 1950.

The recipe has identical ingredients and measurements to the Peanut Butter Cookies recipe in the *Betty Crocker Picture Cook Book*, which was first published in 1950. That version had much simpler instructions. This recipe’s instructions closely match the Peanut Butter Cookies recipe in the *Betty Crocker Cooky Book* (1963), which also had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies variation.

I recently made the switch to 1:1:1 Peanut Butter Cookies and I’m never going back! 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg.

Without the flour, the peanut butter taste is amazing!

My mouth is watering now 🤤 I can almost smell the peanut butter and hear the crunchy sound while biting it.
I am going to try the recipe this weekend.
Thank you so much for sharing.

What’s the best replacement for the shortening in this recipe – coconut oil?
