Texas Wine Shop & Bistro on Highway 96 South in Jasper is celebrating 10 years in business.
The following was written by co-owner Susanne Talcott:
Texas Wine Shop & Bistro will raise a glass to its 10-year anniversary on Highway 96 South this December, celebrating a decade of Texas wines, family ownership, and community atmosphere in Jasper. Steve and Susanne Talcott helm the bistro and winery, rooted in the Talcott family vineyard first planted in 2007 by the late Bill Talcott. The business first sold fresh muscadine grapes and later processed their grapes into their Jewels of the Forest brand which joined their Acai Wine brand that was first launched in 2010.
Since its founding in 2015, Texas Wine Shop & Bistro has become a cornerstone of the Jasper dining scene. All wines are produced on-site and their muscadines are harvested from a 20-acre vineyard south of town. From intimate date-night dinners, birthday parties, anniversaries, and wedding celebrations, the family-friendly venue has offered experiences that go far beyond the glass. The Talcott family credit the shop’s success to its loyal patrons and dedicated staff. “We wanted to create a place where wine lovers and newcomers alike could feel at home,” Talcott said. “Ten years later, it’s the friendships and memories made here that mean the most.”
The anniversary celebration will span three days from the December 11–13 turning the bistro into a holiday hub of music, markets, and wine-centered gatherings. On Friday night, guests can kick off the festivities with live music from Old Souls Band, filling the bistro with a mix of familiar tunes, local camaraderie, and plenty of Texas wine. Saturday will feature a Christmas vendor market, inviting local makers and small businesses to set up shop, followed that evening by a lively round of music bingo to keep the celebration going.
Wine club members will also enjoy a dedicated pick-up event during the anniversary weekend, designed as a special thank-you for the customers who have supported and helped Texas Wine Shop & Bistro grow over the past decade. With live music, a festive market, games, and a focus on family-crafted Texas wines, the three-day celebration reflects exactly what the Talcott family set out to create: a place where good wines, good foods, and good neighbors all come together.
