My bf and I decided to make a trip to Toronto from Chicago (2nd time for me 1st time for him) and the food was amazing! I wish we had more time because it was so overwhelming to narrow down food choices 😭
Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto – I was the most excited about this place. I only had kaiseki once in Tokyo and I can’t find it anywhere near me in Chicago. Every single course was amazing was dead on what I had in Tokyo.
Pai – My bf and I love Thai food and we loved this place!
Dark Horse Coffee
La Plume – the vibe was nice and the food was really good 🤤 That French onion soup was one of the best we had.
Ivy coffee – I had the ube latte 🤤
First Markham Place food court – this reminded me of food growing up in Hong Kong 😭
Hatch coffee
Some poutine at the Distillery District
Richmond Station – the farm to table menu was amazing. Every single course blew our minds. We don’t understand how this doesn’t get a Michelin star.
Butter tarts at St Lawrence Market
Until next time Toronto ❤️🥹

Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve had good culinary experiences in Chicago at places like Revolution Brewing.
If you didn’t already try it during your visit, the burger at Richmond Station is probably their signature item.

Oh geez you really stretched from the downtown core!
For more authentic stuff you might want to reach towards the Pacific Mall has had some pretty amazing food I haven’t found downtown yet. I haven’t been since pre-covid but the shopping was so much fun. So many little shops.
Nice list! We love Chicago, have you been to Asador Bastian? Unbelievable food.
Glad you enjoyed Toronto! We’re spoiled with variety here for sure.
Chicago has incredible food. Last time I went we had Kasama, Pequod’s, and Momotaro ❤️ Means a lot coming from you all 🙂
I was just planning on making a trip to Chicago, I think this post is my sign to book it!
What is the dish in picture #9?
So glad to hear you had a great time!! My husband and I love visiting Chicago, we actually took a road trip there for our fourth date to try El Ideas (is that place still around? hahah)
We snagged a last min reso for Kasama last year and flew in and it was a really great meal! Also lucky to have tried Alinea. Also loved Galit and Sepia. Need to go back!!
Where did you get your butter tarts at the St. Lawrence market? Aren’t there a lot of different places to get them?
