Aldi is asking all customers who have recently bought Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets to return the item, as it contains egg, which was not mentioned on the label.

Meaning that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

In a product safety recall for the Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets, Aldi said: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in

“Blankets because the product is labelled incorrectly and contains an undeclared allergen (egg).

“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has also shared advice on what to do if you have bought the Aldi product.

Advising: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it.

“Instead, return it to your nearest Aldi store for a full refund.”

Aldi also previously recalled one of its Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks because the product may contain peanuts, which are not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts, the FSA adds.
