Made this cake for a friends daughters birthday with a matching smash cake! This is my first fondant topper that I’ve made – any tips to stop it from sagging and wrinkling?

Not a fondant person but just wanted to say that this is so stinking cute! Love the buttercream details

Oh this is so adorable!!! I love the color palette!

Did you use modeling paste for the figure or fondant? I believe modeling paste is supposed to be sturdier, but I gave up on fondant ages ago so I don’t have much more insight. I’ve mixed CMC with glucose fondant in the past for various decorations.

For a first fondant topper, this came out really sweet. Sagging usually comes from the fondant being a little too soft or heavy.

Beautiful! Re the fondant “elephant skin”, use a paintbrush and lightly apply shortening

    I love this.

My mom calls me “Goose” for “Silly Goose” so this is speaking, no, honking to me.
