My dad cooks them til they’re gray as well. My pregnant sister chewed him out and told ME to cook her steak medium rare and I nailed it in one go. Here come the “that cows heart is still beating” comments from my parents while sister chows down with a big grin. A lot of us suffered the gray steak parents. I’m so sorry. At least mine didn’t cut them full in half tho lol

By a steak, cook it yourself, and let him eat it so he can taste what a properly cooked steak should taste like.
Everybody I’ve ever known that preferred medium or well done steaks only did so because that’s what they grew up with and were led to believe if it was pink they would get sick and die. I was one of those people when I was young, and when I had a medium rare steak for the first time, it changed my life.

I grew up eating steak medium rare mostly, but that’s beyond cooked.
