Is it one of those end cuts that ends up being a rip off? Or did I walk away from gold? The one on the right to be specific.

One is a porter house and another is a t-bone. Technically, that’s an extremely generous t-bone

You got one t-bone and one porterhouse. Basically the same steak, the porterhouse just has more of the filet end on the other side of the bone. But yeah, this kinda does look like near the end of the porterhouse.

The one on the right looks more like a porterhouse which is the same cut as a T bone but has more of the fillet side so it’s a more premium cut

You can take a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a butchers ass..wait that’s not right

Sad butcher, no porterhouse should have that much chime bone left on it.

Not bad for today’s price but I use to get ribeye for that price last year…

Wow, its still a Tbone, one is from the thicker end of the eye fillet, other side is all porterhouse/sirloin

Funny story how sirloin got its name.
King asks his chef to make the best roast meat or he’ll lose his head, chef goes to local butcher and asks for the best cut fit for a king, he is handed a cut and the butcher tells him it’s called loin.
Chef roasts and slices it for the king…., the king is so impressed he draws his sword and knights it – hence ‘Sirloin steak’

  11. Porterhouse and tbone in the same package. Tbone has the better strip since the sinew is all along the fat line. Porterhouse has the better filet, but both the filet and the strip may have some intramuscular sinew. The step does for certain.
