It was discovered that it contains an ingredient that has not been declared on the list of ingredients, meaning it poses a health concern for anyone with a specific allergy.The UK’s fourth largest supermarket has had to alert customers that its Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets contain egg, meaning it poses “a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg”. The product was on sale at stores based in Scotland, England and Wales.In an allergy alert posted to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) shoppers have been advised that the recall affects 278g pack sizes, with the barcode 4069365328743 and use-by date of December 15, 2025. The recall is a “precautionary measure” that was made by Aldi’s suppliers due to the “incorrect labelling”.Anyone who has an allergy to egg has been advised not to eat the party snack, but to instead return it to their nearest Aldi store where a full refund will be provided. Symptoms can range from mild to serious including skin rashes, hives, a stuffy nose, upset stomach, vomiting and, very rarely, anaphylaxis.Aldi’s full recall notice read: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets because the product is labelled incorrectly and contains an undeclared allergen (egg). Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.
