Glasgow’s first spot dedicated to a much-loved Italian dessert is set to open in the west end this month. Taking over the former Coffee Commission spot on Queen Margaret Drive, Tiramisù was first announced back in October and will offer desserts produced from a family recipe and made fresh daily.
Founded by an Italian family of pastry chefs, owner Pasquale said their aim is to “share their most beloved dessert”, traditional tiramisù “homemade, heartfelt and served in a fresh, modern space”.
Set to open later this week (December 18), there will be different versions on offer for fans to enjoy with the traditional dessert, which is made with mascarpone cream and ladyfinger biscuits dipped in strong coffee and liqueur before being dusted in cocoa powder.
There will also be other baked goods on offer, as well as a range of specialty coffees.
Food fans have already been sharing their excitement with some querying whether the team will offer vegan and non-alcoholic versions.
The website for the new space is currently still under construction but can be found here.
