“Winery of the Year” for Le Guide de L’Espresso and over 40 outstanding ratings from Italian and international guides and critics confirm the strength of Vallepicciola’s winemaking project, alongside an ever-evolving wine tourism offering and the renewal of the VIVA certification.

2025 is a year of major confirmations and new milestones for Vallepicciola, the Siena-based winery owned by the Bolfo family, which stands out for the solidity of its winemaking project and the attention received from national and international critics. Both the prestigious “Winery of the Year” award granted by Le Guide de L’Espresso and the consolidation of wine tourism experiences place the winery among the most dynamic and highly regarded estates in Chianti Classico. This path is further confirmed by numerous accolades from authoritative voices such as Wine Spectator, James Suckling, Antonio Galloni – Vinous, Falstaff, Luca Gardini, Bibenda, and other leading Italian wine guides.

SANGIOVESE AT THE HEART OF SUCCESS
In 2025, Vallepicciola achieved results that confirm the strength of a coherent vision, capable of enhancing the territory through interpretations marked by elegance and strong personality. Among the many ratings awarded by leading Italian and international guides, several significant recognitions highlight Sangiovese, the cornerstone grape variety of the estate’s production. The Chianti Classico range reaches one of its highest expressions in the Gran Selezione Vigneto Lapina 2021, which earned a series of top-tier evaluations, including 98 points from Le Guide de L’Espresso and 94 points from Antonio Galloni – Vinous. Alongside this range, the Grandi Cru project interprets the potential of individual estate parcels with distinctive style, through tailored vinifications and targeted ageing. Among the most acclaimed wines, Vallepicciola Rosso 2022 IGT Toscana, a pure Sangiovese, stands out as one of the highlight of the year, earning outstanding scores such as 110 Cum Laude from GardiniNotes, 93 points from Wine Spectator and Vinous, and 92 points from James Suckling.

FROM CHIANTI CLASSICO TO THE WORLD: HOSPITALITY AND INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE
In 2025, Vallepicciola further consolidated its role as an ambassador of Chianti Classico worldwide. Deeply committed for years to the development of wine tourism, the winery continues to invest in authentic experiences that place the relationship with the territory and attention to each guest at the center. This year once again, the quality of hospitality translated into a steady flow of visitors and high satisfaction levels, encouraging the team to focus on increasingly tailored experiences capable of conveying Vallepicciola’s identity. Guided tastings, sunset sips, and jeep tours through the vineyards have broadened the wine’s tourism offerings, adding a touch of magic to guests’time along the vines.

From a production standpoint, 2025 also proved to be a significant year. The harvest showed a particularly promising profile, confirming—according to winemaker Alessandro Cellai—excellent grape quality and a balance that suggests an outstanding vintage ahead.

TOWARDS 2026: SUSTAINABILITY, EVENTS AND NEW WINERY EXPERIENCES
With 107 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga and an annual production of 500,000 bottles across 17 labels, Vallepicciola reaffirms its commitment to increasingly responsible and conscious viticulture. The recent renewal of the VIVA certification—which assesses the environmental performance of Italian wine estates—further strengthens a sustainability path already well underway. Looking ahead to 2026, focus is already on key upcoming events such as Chianti Classico Collection and Wine Paris, as well as on the development of new winery experiences designed to engage and inspire tourists and wine lovers. A journey that continues under the banner of innovation, while remaining firmly rooted in the territory and guided by a clear identity: that of a winery whose origins and deepest vocation lie in Chianti Classico.
