Check your freezer. Danone U.S. is recalling its So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert due to the potential presence of foreign materials, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The product was recalled due to small stones and other hard objects that may be inside the cashew clusters. Affected ice cream pints have the SKU number 36603, UPC 744473476138, and best-by date of before August 8, 2027, printed on the bottom of the container.
The product has been removed from store shelves, but consumers may still have it in their freezer. According to the FDA, Danone has corrected the issue, and the frozen dessert should be back in stores soon.
It’s unclear whether any injuries have been reported related to this recall. Physical contaminants in food can pose serious health hazards to consumers, the FDA states. If accidentally ingested, these contaminants could cause dental damage, laceration of the mouth or throat, laceration or perforation of the intestine, and other serious injuries.
