I was in the area and saw others talk about this spot. I ended up getting the namesake Alpine it has: Ham, Salami, Capicollo & Provolone Cheese plus some hot giardiniera. I devoured the medium. It's a great mom and pop shop, not to be missed.

I hope you also stopped over at Johnnie’s while you were in the area.

  2. This place is great. I go to the one on North Ave.

Useless fun fact – The owner of Alpine used to be the guitar player in the freddy jones band.

Honestly one of the best outside the city, I grew up a few miles away to the west so we had Alpine or Al and Joes in Franklin Park, but if I had to choose I’d say Alpine was the better of the 2.

I’m spoiled. I live within walking distance from the original in Elmwood Park.

Thanks for the reminder, I gotta order a party platter for Friday. Actually I probably need 2 knowing my extended family & friends.

FYI: Elmwood Park location is closed Mondays.

I haven’t eaten meat in a decade but I know from here that sandwich was correct

The Best Subs. I grew up over there and still go over to have a sub and grab Johnnies Beef.

  9. Looks good and I can appreciate the ⬆️protein to carb ratio

Great sandwiches and the potato salad is really good.

Had this today actually—but only go there when I’m craving a sandwich and The Original Nottoli & Son on Belmont is closed (Sun-Tues..they’re only open Weds-Sat) 🙃 That’s my preferred spot in the area 🤌🏼

Cant speak for the one in the city but the Westchester location is weak
