Backwards as it may sound, winter is actually one of our favorite seasons to enjoy a chilly pint of ice cream—and for one good reason: the limited-edition flavors.

You see, there’s only a short window to enjoy our many seasonal go-tos, from Jeni’s Boozy Eggnog to Blue Bell’s Peppermint Bark and Christmas Cookies. And now, a new festive flavor is joining the holiday roster, courtesy of a brand known for pushing the boundaries of ice cream creativity.

And this dessert isn’t just inspired by one of our favorite holiday flavors—it’s also inspired by one of the most iconic characters of the season: the Grinch himself.

Van Leeuwen Releases New Grinchmas Peppermint Ice Cream

The Grinch has enjoyed quite the holiday spotlight this year. He’s popped up on Costco cookie jars, crashed Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, and even headlined Krispy Kreme’s Merry Grinchmas Doughnut Collection. Not to mention, he recently caused some Christmas-themed commotion in the McDonald’s drive-thru.

But the Grinch isn’t done yet. There’s still a bit more mischief to be made before Christmas—this time on limited-edition pints of Van Leeuwen ice cream.

Van Leeuwen’s latest holiday flavor is inspired by the Dr. Seuss classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” And while his theme song might warn you of “unwashed socks” and a “bad banana with a greasy black peel,” thankfully, this pint tastes nothing like that.

Instead, Van Leeuwen took a far more appealing route, creating a red-and-green swirled peppermint ice cream loaded with chocolate hearts. And the result is something fans on Instagram are calling “straight-up holiday chaos in a pint.” Sounds about right.

“I grabbed this yesterday, and I am obsessed,” one fan shared. “Can confirm our heart also grew three sizes for this collab,” added another.

According to the brand’s announcement, the new Grinch-inspired holiday pint is available now at Kroger and its affiliated grocery stores, as well as at Van Leeuwen scoop shops. And with only a few weeks left to taste it, there’s no time to waste.

At this rate, we’ve got a whole lot of pints to fit in between “4:00: Wallow in self pity,” and “5:30: Jazzercise.”
