A STRIKING new chapter is unfolding at Scotchmans Hill with the release of Solé, a Mediterranean-influenced collection designed to capture the spirit of coastal living and the evolving tastes of Australian wine lovers.
This colourful new offering marks one of the most exciting developments for the Bellarine’s leading winery, signalling innovation, regional confidence and a bold step forward in local winemaking.
Bright, expressive and crafted with a modern sensibility, Solé introduces a fresh perspective to the region’s cool-climate landscape.
The release of Solé comes at a time of celebration for the estate, with Scotchmans Hill awarded a trophy for their Albariño at the 2025 Geelong Wine Show. The trophy-winning wine forms part of the Solé collection, showcasing the promise and potential of these new varietals now flourishing in the region.
Senior winemaker Marcus reflected on the project’s long-term vision.
Solé, a Mediterranean-influenced collection, has been designed to capture the spirit of coastal living and the evolving tastes of Australian wine lovers.
“We’re excited to introduce this new chapter for Scotchmans Hill. The Solé project began eight years ago, followed by the planting of Albariño, Fiano, Sangiovese Rosé, Gamay and Sangiovese, an ambitious investment in the future of the Bellarine Peninsula,” he said.
“These varieties are exceptionally well suited to our evolving conditions, and their strong result at this year’s Geelong Wine Show confirms the potential we recognised from the outset. We’re incredibly proud of what the team has created and look forward to the future of the Solé range.”
Chief winemaker, Robin Brockett, reflected further on the origins and outcome of the project.
“The vision for the new Solé range started eight years ago when I was considering the future of varieties that could thrive in our region. The premise behind this was our climate changing, along with the changing tastes of consumers, while always looking to future trends,” he said.
“The wines under Solé are a manifestation of this, and they have delivered far more than I expected all those years ago. A great success.”
