I've had this tin for quite a while, it just seemed special. I was waiting for, well, for today! No, this isn't a particularly special day, but these are some special sardines. If the pretty art on the box doesn't convince you then seeing these lttle beauties lined up in the tin surely will! Perfect fish, obviously packed with attention, shiny skin intact in a very light colored oil. Gotta try one on its own, even though there's some toasty bread planned for them. It's a perfect little flavor bomb, lightly fishy with just a little firmness. The oil is very neutral, I don't think it's EVO but a high quality olive oil all the same. Worthy of a dressing for sure, I used most of it drizzled on the toast and sipped the rest. It actually works well being so light and neutral, let's the fish be the main attraction, just oil, salt and sardines here. Really had to hold back from savoring all of these one by one out of the tin, if I hadn't already toasted the bread and sliced the toppings I would have! These rank right at the top of all the sardines I've tried, a side by side comparison with Ramon Pena Gold would be a nice taste test. I don't remember what I paid for them but I'm about to find out as I now know I need some more to look forward to! Easiest five stars ever!

Gorgeous! Thanks for reminding me about this tin… I had one almost a year ago but haven’t reordered because I’ve been trying so many others, but I gotta get more soon. It’s one of the best cans of small sardines I’ve had!
