I am just starting my cake decoration journey. I definitely underestimated how long it takes to do wafer paper cakes so it got sloppy towards the end. I used Lindt white chocolate dusted with gold luster dust for the big balls. I also couldn’t decide which version I liked better

There’s not much to criticise, looks fantastic!
No advice, just absolutely gorgeous! Well done that’s amazing. What did you use for the decoration on the sides?
*Edit -wafer paper, I didn’t read your post, sorry!
Not a baker so no critique here but I’d be delighted to receive this, it’s stunning 🤩
Looks better than 99% of cakes I’ve seen in person
Such elegance! I love how unique this cake is.
The raspberries should be cleaned, and the thin sheets would look better flush to the cake top.
This is a very cool look!
Funky I love it!
Stunning
I love this cake!
It looks great
Someone already mentioned cleaning the dust off of the raspberries and making the wafer paper the exact height of the cake. From a design point of view I think there’s visually a bit of a disconnect between the sides and the top, it would be cool if you figured out how to incorporate some of the raspberries in the sides and/or the gold balls on the top, something to connect the two visually. You start to do that in the second cake but the placement of the balls feels a little random, consider adding some of the asymmetry you put in the sides, in the top or adding a little more texture interest. Looks great! I’d be excited to have this cake, can’t wait to see the next one!
I’m afraid you’re out of luck if you want someone to criticize it because it’s gorgeous… you’ve got talent there..Happy Birthday..
Happy Birthday, and it’s delightful and very creative.
I am in no place to criticize this beautiful cake. I love the one topped with raspberries more because I like raspberries 🙂. Great job
I like it the way it sits. My only suggestion would be to place parchment between the layers of fondant when you place the gold balls to keep the dust off the adjacent fondant. That being said, the dust on the fondant isn’t bad as it gives a radiance to the balls. Overall a very nice project!
