A nice bottle, but it didn't hit my sweet ("buy again!") spot. Partly from taste, partly from price increase.
A beautiful garnet color shimmering almost silver at the edges. The nose was hit upon corking, and smelled cherry/plum, a bit spicy. Provocative.
As I tried to pull out more smells, I got some plum, mint, blackberry, cinnamon, cream, even some mint and parsley/sage and orange peel, which I suspect sounds weird for a LB Bordeaux. Smokiness.
I pegged the ABV higher than it is (13.5, I thought 14), and while the first glass had a very pleasant long finish, that faded with my second glass, 1.5 hours later–closer to medium.
It's a very good wine, and I'm glad I tried it. I considered getting another bottle because at $68, it's good… But
Nope, for over $100, current price, I have better options.

Too early to judge so harshly?
ok buddy
Giscours is deeply overrated. Agree
To be honest drinking this wine so young is a terrible way to judge it. That wine needs 10 years. Probably more
Pedophile…..
I recently opened the 2017 in a fit of madness and that too was way too young.
Edit – just to add salt to the wound, it only cost me €50!
Shame!! I visited the castle in July and bought their 08 for 90 Euros hehe
Opened a few bottles of the 2004 about 18 months ago and it was spectacular.
All due respect, if I talked like that around my buddies I might get my ass kicked😂
Opened the 2015 last night. Was a hit, but was expecting a bit more. Still thoroughly enjoyable.
Honestly, I like this wine generally speaking but it’s getting a little expensive for what it is. When you can find it, the Haut-Médoc de Giscours is a lot of wine for the money.
Over $100? I think I saw Giscours at Trader Joe’s for like $45 and 2020 vintage as well
Edit: Weird comment to downvote but I just double checked. It was in fact the 2020 Margaux, but it was $60 and not $45.
