First off, fries were great and loved the garlic mayo they came with. I'm not usually a mayo with my fries guy, but I was about those from the start. Fries were by far the best part.
Pickle was just a pickle. Was kinda hoping for better. It was nothing special.
Finally, the burger. I know some people like this, but man I'm not a fan of a medium rare burger. It's a big turnoff. Especially when I'm watching you cook what looked like frozen burger patties of an unknown origin (I found nothing on their website about where their meat comes from). I don't trust big processing plants. Just cook the thing all the way through. I'm sure it would have been good otherwise, but I couldn't get past uncooked burger.

Yeah I would’ve sent it back, I’m scared if anything less than a well done burger, maybe medium well at the right spot
Did you get bacon on the burger? As far as I’m aware, that’s the entire reason for going to Au Cheval.
It’s okay to have wrong opinions. But that doesn’t mean I’ll upvote them.
Smash burgers aren’t made rare, medium, etc.
What exactly did you expect from the side pickle?
Steaks medium rare. Burgers medium.
Good ol’ Sysco frozen burgers.
Hogsalt strikes again.
Okay OP, I’ll bite. Where in Chicago are you finding pickles that are up to your standard?
Agreed – not my jam either. Clearly we’re in the minority but whatever
