Buncha snobs in here. I would destroy those fried with my mouth.

  2. Pulp Fiction wasn’t lying, they really do put mayo on fries lmao

  3. _PeteRoss_

Why are people complaining? This looks great?! I am hungry and want this right now. How can people complain? Is everyone an idiot here? I don’t understand?

  4. bigolfishey

I see a bunch of comments complaining about complainers but no comments actually saying it looks bad, unless it’s the singular deleted comment

Do Americans not put mayo/aioli on fries? It’s delicious.

  6. No_Persimmon9013

Imo not actual Dutch fries, these are just from some Instagram place in Amsterdam… We never ever ever put truffle mayo and parmesan on fries… Want the Dutch experience? Try patatje oorlog!

  7. mellofello808

    Make sure you try Bitterballen!

It is my favorite Dutch food I have tried in my multiple trips to Amsterdam.

For the people wondering about the complaints, it’s cause they’re from a tourist trap in Amsterdam.

They’re delicious but Dutch people kinda scoff at them cause only tourists go there. You have to wait hours in line, in a city where there’s plenty of places to get fries just as good

You should try a “Friet kapsalon” instead.

That’s so much sauce. I’d be down if I could get the sauce on the side.

Never heard of Amsterdam fries but, damn, they look good.

Okay, I’m gonna need to know the ingredients before I make a concrete stance on this.

I ate some actual Dutch fries, not this monstrosity, when I was in Amsterdam last May. I was also high on mushrooms and it felt like a religious experience.

I was just in Amsterdam last week and these were everywhere it seemed. Definitely tourist trappy. They were pretty effective to satisfy the munchies but the truffle sauce is applied a little too thick in my opinion. Overall not bad but wasn’t like spectacular must try type of thing IMO.

  15. TheLadyEve

That’s a lot of mayo even for Dutch fries, but I’d still say “yes please.”

  16. As a Dutchman I want to say :” What the hell is this? ” But then again it’s in amsterdam so it’s probably just another successful attempt to scam a tourist. How much did it cost? € 10,-? We eat our fries with mayonaise, peanut sauce or a ‘patatje Oorlog (raw onion is optional) which is a combination of these and is awesome. You can also try it with curry or Joppie sauce

  17. Shanntuckymuffin

Yep, Dutch food is why my flight from Amsterdam to PDX was a living hell.

  18. Crownjules

Forget fries, you want a Frikandel for the true experience

  19. Been to Amsterdam 4 times. Never been interested in getting these. It’s fries.

  20. You mean sauce with a side of fries. Jesus Christ, what a monster of a dish.

  21. morphogenesis28

Oh wow a large dollop of sour warm mayonnaise!!! I heard keep raw eggs and milk products at warm temperatures makes them taste amazing…

Vincent: You know what they put on French fries in Holland instead of ketchup?

    Jules: What?

    Vincent: Mayonnaise.

    Jules: Goddamn.

Vincent: I’ve seen ’em do it, man. They fuckin’ drown ’em in that shit.

Vincent: And you know what they call a… a… a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?

Jules: They don’t call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?

Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn’t know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is.

Jules: Then what do they call it?

Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese.

Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?

Vincent: Well, a Big Mac’s a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.

Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?

Vincent: I dunno, I didn’t go into Burger King.

I like the Amsterdam street food fries with satay sauce.
