He did every step from refreshing the starter through scoring and handling the Dutch oven. What a beautiful first loaf!

If someone gave 8th grade me a loaf of bread, I’d immediately fall for that person. Your kid is awesome, and the loaf looks amazing! I love the even blistering of the crust.

Read the title many times, brain was stuck at “kid baked his crush”

Wow as a baker and a mom of 3 boys I hope to teach them courting strategies like this one day lol

  6. Most days I’m so phenomenally grateful I’m out of the dating scene and happily partnered. But knowing that no potential suitor ever baked me a beautiful loaf as a gift has me second guessing. What a unique and touching present! Idk his crush, so who knows if the recipient will have the correct level of appreciation, but as an adult they will surely look back with awe and fondness, and a higher bar for others. This is the sweetest coolest gift, and a partner with truly useful life skills like cooking and baking is always a win.

Wow, now just to add a wheel of cheese, and she can’t help but be won over… and fascinated!

Omg I hope all goes well for the two of them! That’s such an awesome thing to do 😍

Looks like a perfect batard. I like the two simple slashes enhancing oven spring and also elongating the loaf.

I’ll give you my buns if you’ll give me yours.

If he handed this to me and asked me to buy alcohol for him, he’d be happy with his new 5th of citrus vodka and 48 pack of pbr
