I have 2, which unfortunately both are leaking now. The Blair’s Halloween Reserves are released (almost) every year in limited numbers. Most people collect them and never open them. IIRC the 2011 was $299 when released.

It’s gimmicky AF. Custom artisan bottles, Italian resins, corked and waxed, gold skull, etc.. cool yes but not worth it. Just give me a recycled bottle that was found and rinsed or hell id take my sauce in a sandwich bag so long as it tastes amazing.

It’s not so much a hot sauce as it is a collectible, much like a lot of Blairs top end range. They only make a certain amount of bottles. There are collectors out there trying to fill out their collection.

My take is that it’s for show and if some numbskull thinks offering a big discount will make them the ultimate shopper, then it’s worth it. Blair’s is a fine line of sauces. I moved from Death to After Death and will go up when it’s done. Sauce makers have special runs, this apparently being one. Cool looking bottle.

I’ve met Blair… nice enough guy. These reserves are done in custom blown glass bottles, and are very very limited releases. They aren’t crazy expensive to buy on release, but they definitely go up in value.
The sauce isn’t worth it (his classic death sauce is great though), especially since opening the bottle will tank its value.
I had about five bottles that I sold for probably 8x what I got them for, but only because I got them at release.
Only sold them because I needed to pay rent and was suuuuper poor at that point.

They’ve been around since 1989 and have a cult following. They make this stuff because there is a demand from their customers. Many collectors and a lot of their high end stuff has actually gained value over the years. I’d never buy this personally but I can see why they make it.

Former hot sauce shop owner here – really hope those totals are in pesos. Sauces don’t age well, especially when not refrigerated. The sauces in question weren’t ones we’d stock in the first place due to quality issues; these were novelty sauces, sold at novelty stores, not ones genuinely made available for culinary uses.
Edit: even in pesos that doesn’t make sense.

Blair’s makes very good sauce and has almost a cult following. I’ve had many of their sauces (I have a collection of skull key rings to prove it). His Death Sauce series is well known.
They make special collection sauces on occasion. They fall in the “you have to sign a waiver to buy them” category. I’ve never bought any but they do sell out. Never saw any at that price. It’s a 2011 Reserve. Owner must think it’s collectible so marked it up extremely high. Not even sure if a 14 year old bottle is even still good.

This is in line with prices I see online. Here’s an [ebay auction](https://www.ebay.com/itm/226819102514) with this and the complete package that ended for over $3500. Here’s [a store](https://www.peppersofkeywest.com/product/blairs-2011-halloween-reserve-86-of-199/) listing a bottle for $2600. It’s a collectors item, out of a series of 199, and hot sauce has grown in popularity since then.
