As a sub darling, Dujac hardly needs an introduction, so I’ll try to keep it brief…

Founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, who learned under legends at places like DRC and Rousseau, Domaine Dujac is now one of the most respected Burgundy producers in its own right. Today, Jacques’s son Jeremy leads the estate alongside his wife and brother. They also have a “Dujac Fils & Père” negociant label that is considered high-quality but rarely reaches the heights of the Domaine bottlings.

Like all Domaine Dujac wines, this village-level Chambolle-Musigny underwent a late malolactic fermentation and the juice is unfiltered. It comes in at 13.5% ABV.

*Tasting notes: deep ruby color. A bit darker nose than I expected, with black cherry and a touch of strawberry, along with some herbal notes. Medium-bodied and well-balanced, with a medium+ length, juicy and spicy finish. Overall, this is a lovely wine, and Dujac is Dujac, but value is a bit of a question at $125+ for village level.

Would you think this would improve with time? Feels a bit young I’d think?

  3. i’ve only couple Dujacs by the glass but for experienced Burg tasters does Dujac have a particular house style of winemaking that evidences itself even in village level or 1er cru sites?

I just got my mixed case of 2023’s! The wine needs time, but it’s so good.

Waiting on burgundies to mature properly has never been my strong suit, lol.

    Love me some Dujac!

Serving good Burgundy in a glass like that should be a punishable offence. I’m glad the wine played along anyway!

How can you be this into wine and so indifferent about glassware?

  8. Nice. Though not the same comparison to Domaine, but we just had Dujac F&P CM 2021 and thought it was a lovely wine.
