Saw these two bottles at local Costco. It’s about $100 less compared to my local TotalWine. Are they good and are they a steal?

If you see a .97 deal on a wine at Costco, you can almost always be assured that it is one of the cheapest prices for the bottle out there.

Obviously, it depends on if you like how the wine tastes. But a .97 is almost always a “good deal”

The pichon Baron is a second growth very serious Wine great price you can find it in the 180s so it’s not a steal but that’s at the low end i. Price i2022 was a good vintage. 20 to 30 drinking window that’s a very serious Wine. The Leoville is from a lesser vintage, but a great wine and that is a very good price probably because the 2021 vintage wasn’t thought of it as well but that’s one of the better wines of the vintage.

Did yours have a ’22 Haut Brion for $750/bottle? I was pleasantly surprised to see my local store stock a fair bit of ’22 Bordeaux.

Do you have a wine fridge or anything? I wouldn’t personally spend the money on premium left bank Bordeaux like this at this age without having a plan for where they’re going to sit for 10-15 years.

My greatest wine score ever was at Sam’s Club, where they had loaded up on the 96 Massetto lowered it to 99 a bottle this is when Wine bid was still functioning at a high level. I bought 39 bottles sold 37 of them for 250 apiece.

Get the 2022…it’s a once in a decade excellent vintage. Definitely the best vintage of the 2020s. The 2021s i have tried need time and just doesn’t have much fruit on the front end. Maybe it will get better with time but it’s simply not a great vintage in my opinion.
