My 2 year old Nespresso Vertuo Next was flashing red and was overheating. You could hear the mechanism trying to rotate but it just wouldn’t go. Anyway after calling customer support and going through trouble shooting, they concluded that my Nespresso machine was broken and out of the warranty period. They gave me an option to send in for repair for $150 or 25% off a new machine. Since I had nothing to lose I took it apart. The big bearing was stuck and would not rotate. I had to hammer it out. Once I got it out I sprayed it with soapy water and put in a cup of boiling water. That seemed to do the trick and got the bearing moving again(but for how long). My machine works again, but I’m trying to find replacement bearings that won’t rust and are made to withstand high rotation and being wet. Amazon has what I need but when I read the reviews of people who used them on their Nespresso, they all said they rusted within a couple of months.
The bearings name and sizes are as followed for anyone wanting to know.
S6801RS (12x21x5mm). One of the black seals seems to have melted off as you can see by picture two.
S6001RS(12x28x8mm) this is the main bearing that was stuck and wasn’t rotating.
Any help in letting me know where I can purchase these would be greatly appreciated. I’m located in Ontario Canada. I did call Nespresso to see if they would sell me just the bearings, but they won’t do that.
