Sunrise at the Worth Avenue Clock Tower is a popular treat for residents and visitors alike. Now you can get a taste of one dawn in Palm Beach.

To satisfy his self-professed exacting love of Italian cuisine — particularly that of Italy’s southerly Amalfi Coast — Palm Beach billionaire real-estate investor and developer Jeff Greene has opened a new restaurant at the island hotel he owns.

Aptly called Amalfi, the restaurant at Greene’s Tideline Palm Beach Ocean Resort, 2842 S. Ocean Blvd., is helmed by a chef who hails from Italy and most recently led the kitchen at an upscale Italian restaurant in Connecticut.

Amalfi restaurant at Tideline opened in November in a space at the hotel formerly occupied by Brandon’s, which offered “coastal cuisine” under a few different chefs during its 12-year run.  Greene, who lives in Palm Beach, has owned Tideline since 2011, when he bought it as the old Omphoy Ocean Resort and changed the name.

“If I could only go to one place for the rest of my life, it would be Italy,” Greene told the Palm Beach Daily News. “I knew I wanted to open a restaurant with food from the Amalfi Coast, and when I found the right chef, we could do it.”

Chef Emiliano Miglionico, who has worked in restaurant kitchens in Italy and Spain in Europe, most recently led the culinary team at Case Me in Westport, Connecticut. Greene said he first became familiar with the chef’s work at restaurants in New York.

The Amalfi region includes such towns and cities as Sorrento and Positano. The famed Amalfi Coast overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Gulf of Salerno. It’s known for its seafood, lemons, fresh produce and more.

“At our restaurant at Tideline, (Miglionico) has an Amalfi-inspired lemon pasta I could eat every day, and his chicken Milanese is delicious,” Greene said. “He finds the best purveyors, and even the tomatoes are the ripest and the sweetest.”

The interior of Tideline’s Amalfi is similar to what it was under the Brandon’s banner. Brandon’s dining room and ocean-view terrace were rejuvenated in 2024 as part of a $20 million renovation at the hotel.

Amalfi restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The dinner menu is chef Miglionico’s forte, Tideline officials said, with dishes that include fritto misto ($25, with lightly fried calamari and shrimp with a fennel-and-caper aioli); and tagliolini al limone ($26) with lemon zest, breadcrumbs and capers.

Swordfish ($42) with vinaigrette and toasted couscous and chicken Milanese ($30) with cherry tomatoes and arugula also are featured on the dinner menu.

Steak-lovers might wish to order a Prime-grade New York strip ($70) served with French fries and salmoriglio.
