    I thought you had painted “peas” on the dish as a nod to Rachel’s trifle on Friends. Just realized they were gold dots. 🤣 Looks amazing!

    This looks amazing! I’ve always wondered how you serve trifle. Do you scoop down to get all the layers? Do you put it in a bowl rather than a plate, like pudding?

    Ugh this looks so good. I’m thinking of doing a trifle as my bday cake in a couple months, I might use this as inspiration (possibly replacing the chocolate cake with double chocolate sourdough, mmmmmmmm)

    You should name it snow white dessert or something similar. Since it is red as blood, whit as snow and black as ebony.
    And it’s German.

    No way- I’m about to do a Black Forest inspired trifle tonight too! I was going to do it with chocolate cake, kirsh, jarred morello (sour cherries), homemade chocolate custard, and a layer of whipped cream/creme fraiche.
    Can I also what you put into each of your layers? I was only going to do a top cream layer so I can add that before serving and it can hold up for 24hrs (I need to travel with it) but this looks so beautiful with the white layer between too

    I’m not sure why, but as soon as I saw the photo, I immediately thought of Friends and Rachel’s English trifle when she accidentally added meat. *What’s not to like? I mean, it’s got like, all your food groups in it!*
