Monitoring of the Tunisian olive oil exports during the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 season shows that the quantities exported from the beginning of the season (November 2024) to the end of September 2025 – practically the entire olive oil year – have reached 268.600 tons, compared to 190.100 tons compared to the same period of the previous year, with an increase in 41,3%The quantity of packaged olive oil represents only 15,1%, while the remaining part is exported in bulk (84,9%).
This represents an increase in the share of packaged olive oil compared to the same period of the previous season (2023/2024), when it was 13,9%. Furthermore, the extra virgin category alone represents 77,7% of the total exported volume. In terms of value, export revenues recorded during the current season amounted to 3.599,1 million dinars (one billion euros) at the end of September 2025, compared to 5.024,4 million dinars (1,4 billion euros) in the same period of the previous season, with a 28,4% decreaseIt should be noted that only 21,4% of revenue comes from exports of packaged olive oil.
The average price of olive oil in September 2025 it decreased by 46,2% compared to the same month of the previous season, going from 2,71 euros per kg to 5,22 euros per kg depending on the category.
As always, the European market holds the largest share with 58,0% of the export volume, followed by
from North America (26,3%) and from Africa with only 9,4%.
Il The main importer of Tunisian olive oil is Spain with a share of 26,7% of exports in the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 season, followed by Italy (26,4%, equal to over 70 thousand tons) and the United States (19,3%).
With regard to organic olive oil exports, at the end of September 2025 the export volume had reached 50.900 tons, worth approximately 714 million Tunisian dinars (over 200 million euros). Even in this case, the modest share of packaged organic olive oil did not exceed 6,3% of the total volume of organic olive oil exported. Regarding price, the average price of organic olive oil reached 14,02 dinars (4,02 euros). The main importer of Tunisian organic olive oil is Italy, which accounted for 51,1% of exports in the first eleven months of the 2024/2025 season, followed by Spain (20,8%) and the United States (17,0%).
