SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — For more than three decades, a local tradition has made sure no one has to spend Christmas alone.

Bob Bolus is hosting his 32nd annual Christmas Day Dinner this Thursday from noon until six. The event is open to everyone and will be held at St. Patrick’s Church and All Saints Academy on Jackson Street. Volunteers spent the day setting up the cafeteria, preparing for thousands of guests.

What started as a meal for about one hundred people has grown to more than three thousand attendees, with hundreds more meals prepared for takeout and delivery. Turkey dinners will be served, and guests are welcome to take home leftovers.

“We want everybody to come in here. Leave all your problems outside the door, and when you walk in and see the way we’re decorated in here, that warms your heart to know this is Christmas,” said Bolus.

Organizers say the goal is simple, bringing people together and making sure no one spends Christmas Day alone. Anyone in need of a meal or delivery assistance can contact the group directly or call 272-250-3128.
