I made french toast out of suikerbrood (translation: sugar bread). It's like a croissant and a sugar cube had a baby. I cooked it in bacon fat and served it with berries, whipped cream and maple syrup. We had some mocktails and coffee.

How true is it that the Dutch are the stingiest people in the world? That you ask colleagues or classmates to pay you back if they eat a sandwich or an apple at your home? Is that true? Or if a colleague needs some change for whatever reason, will you ask for a bank transfer later?
