hi all!. i've got a lot of these – in this area, i planted cherry tomato, cape gooseberry, chilli, and chive seeds. what could these be? they don't really look like tomatoes to me, so I’m thinking maybe cape gooseberry, but I’m not sure.

(I’m in Australia so it makes sense to be planting these things at the moment, I promise!)

Looks like a weed that’s common around here- lambsquarters.

Yum, that’s lamb’s quarters. Wait till it gets bigger and saute them

Tomato seedlings at the top of the photo

We call this weed “Fathen” chenopodium album in the UK

agree 100%, no doubt what so ever, lamb’s quarters. I only partially consider them a weed. We do use them as a very healthy spinach substitute, both raw and cooked, when the plants are still young and tender. I try to pull out the ones we don’t eat before they get big enough to go to seed

You planted ALL those seeds in one pot? But those are lamb’s quarters. But I am curious as to why there are al many seeds in one pot.

So the scourge of lambs quarter is alive and well in Australia. I have pulled thousands of them from my garden in Idaho.
