Inside a busy kitchen on Christmas Day, volunteers turned kindness into action by cooking and delivering hundreds of hot meals, according to RochesterFirst.
Community members gathered at the Canandaigua Elks Lodge to prepare and hand-deliver 217 meals to neighbors in need. The effort continues a tradition that began in 1994 and has now run for more than 30 years.
Volunteers said the mission goes beyond food, offering connection and dignity during the holidays. Some ingredients came from donated food that would have been thrown away, giving it new purpose. Organizers say anyone interested in helping is welcome to join future efforts.
