Hi everyone, I found this recipe (https://www.food.com/recipe/ben-jerrys-sweet-cream-base-77368) for the Ben&Jerry's ice cream base and for those who've made it, I'd like to know if this is scoopable right out of the freezer? Some ice cream recipes tell you to let the ice cream on the counter for 30 minutes before serving but I'm like nop, I want ice cream that I can scoop right away. Does anyone know if that's how this ice cream base is?

Never do that. Your ice cream is going to get damaged with ice crystals. Ben and Jerry’s base in the cook book sucks in my opinion. I like a lot of the recipes out of the perfect scoop. But honestly I never follow a recipe anymore anyway. I make base the way I like it and flavor it as they suggested then tweak.
Just add more sugar to it
Works well for me. In fact all of the recipes I’ve tried from the Ben and Jerry’s book have worked well. I believe my freezer is around -18°C.
They’re also nice and easy because they don’t need cooking or anything. They could be more scoopable by using a different sugar, or a little alcohol. But they’re decently scoopable for me.
I always ate it all before I got it to the freezer
That recipe is an oddity, try salt&straw or jeni’s instead.
