The winter season is the perfect time for a hearty Italian meal, savory and filling and sure to lead to a cozy tail-end of the night. While pasta is perhaps one of the most popular at-home dishes, sometimes tracking down fresh handmade noodles created by a professional is what the soul craves.
A recent piece from a publication called Tasting Table sought to track down the best Italian restaurant in each American state, and their pick for Colorado is sure to please.
According to Tasting Table, the best Italian restaurant in the Centennial State is Denver’s Tavernetta, located in the Mile High City’s bustling Union Station neighborhood.
“You’ll find dishes from across Italy at this Michelin Guide-recognized spot in Denver, and whether you head to Tavernetta for happy hour or a special occasion kind of meal, there’s no way to be disappointed,” wrote Tasting Table of Tavernetta. “Wagyu beef pasta, lamb ragu, an incredible focaccia, and friendly, welcoming, down-to-earth service make it a win from start to finish.”
Further bolstering the hype of Tavernetta are its high ratings left by guests online – 4.6 stars on Google and 4.5 stars on Yelp. In a world where a lot of pasta dishes and pizzas can feel similar, there’s no doubt that Tavernetta stands out.
A few guest favorites not mentioned in the Tasting Table report include the lobster tagliatelle, the beef carpaccio, and the simple but delectable cacio e pepe.
